Gran Teatre del Liceu Announces Cast Change for Mozart’s Requiem
By Francisco SalazarThe Gran Teatre de Liceu has announced a cast change for its concert of Mozart’s Requiem.
The company said soprano “Emőke Baráth joins today’s concert of Mozart’s ‘Requiem’ at the Sagrada Família replacing Anna Prohaska, due to a medical prescription.”
Baráth has performed at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Salzburger Mozarteum, Opéra national du Rhin, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, and Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. Her repertoire includes the music of Mozart and Handel.
The soprano joins a cast that includes Marina Viotti, Levy Sekgapane, and Nicola Ulivieri. Romeo Castellucci directs the production which opens on Feb. 17.
Prohaska returns to the production on Feb. 18, 2025.
