Gran Teatre del Liceu Announces Cast Change for ‘Eugene Onegin’

The Gran Teatre del Liceu has announced a cast change for its Oct. 8 performance of “Eugene Onegin.”

The Barcelona theater said, “In today’s performance of ‘Eugene Onegin’, the tenor Josep Bros plays the role of Vladimir Lenski, replacing Alexey Neklyudov.”

Bros is currently performing the role of Lenski in the second cast of “Onegin.” He is a well-known Catalan tenor who has performed at the Teatro San Carlo, Teatro alla Scala, Wiener Staatsoper, and Teatro Regio di Parma, among others.

He is set to join a cast that includes Svetlana Aksenova, Victoria Karkacheva, Audun Iversen, and Sam Carl. Josep Pons conducts the production by Christof Loy.
