Gran Teatre del Liceu Announces Major Contract Extensions
By David SalazarThe Gran Teatre del Liceu has announced that it will be renewing the contracts of Pablo Assante and Àlex Ollé.
Assante will continue to lead the Cor del Liceu for another four years. He has headed the ensemble since 2021.
Meanwhile, Ollé will be renewed as resident artist of the theater for one more year with the possibility of two more one-year extensions thereafter. Ollé has directed over 30 operas around the world at such companies as the Royal Opera House in London, Ópera National de Paris, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Sydney Opera House, and New National Theater in Tokyo, among others.
