Gramercy Opera to Present Holiday Double Bill

Gramercy Opera is set to produce “A Gramercy Opera Christmas” on Dec. 13 and 14, 2019 at the Montauk Club in Brooklyn, New York.

First up will be “Story of an Hour, which tells the story of a fatal train accident during the 1800s that has consequences on two young women. The work is based on a short story by Kate Choplin.

It will feature music by Michael Valenti with a libretto by Stacey Luftig. Scott Bradley Joiner will direct with Ian Niederhoffer conducting.

The cast will include Kate Furchterman, Sable Strout, Aaron Theno, and Jay Lucas Chacon.

“Story of an Hour” will be followed by “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” by Anthony Laciura and some Christmas carols as performed by Gramercy Opera’ Children’s Chorus.

The performance will be produced by Allison McAuley, the Artistic Director of Gramercy Opera.
