The Graeae Theatre Company, in partnership with the BBC Concert Orchestra and Curve Theatre, will present the world premiere of “The Paradis Files.”

The work, created by composer Errollyn Wallen and librettists Nicola Weenowska and Selina Mills, will be conducted by Andrea Brown with direction by Jenny Sealey.

The chamber opera will star Maureen Brathwaite, Omar Ebrahim, Andee-Louise Hypolite, Bethan Langford, Ella Taylor, and Ben Thapa. It tells the story of Maria Theresa von Paradis, a renowned artist as she tries to overcome people looking to exploit her.

“It has been a joy to have been commissioned by Graeae and The Stables to bring this fascinating story of Maria Theresia von Paradis to life. I am so looking forward to the premiere of The Paradis Files, after the many exciting twists and turns of its development,” said Warren in an official press statement.

The showcase opens on April 8 and runs through May 12, 2022 throughout the U.K.
