Aivis Greters has been appointed Principal Guest Conductor at Gothenburg Opera. He will take over the position from the fall of 2024 to 2027.

This season the young conductor is leading several opera productions including “Nabucco,” “Don Giovanni,” “Der Fliegender Holländer,” and “Tosca.”

The new position comes at the start of an important 2023-24 season which will see his debut with Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and Sinfonietta Riga alongside returns to Royal Stockholm Philharmonic and Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra following very successful debuts with both orchestras last season.

Henning Ruhe, Artistic Director of Opera at Gothenburg Opera said, “Aivis Greters is an exceptional talent and we have already had great joy from his versatile musicality. We are thrilled that we now together can continue to develop artistically and create new exciting experiences with this emerging star.”
