The Göteborgs Operan has announced its 2023-24 season featuring nine productions of classics and modern works.

Mats Persson leads Verdi’s “Nabucco” with Tomas Lind, Mats Almgren, Zoya Tsererina, and Ann-Kristin Jones. Giancarlo Andretta conducts the production by Jacopo Spirei.

Joachim Bäckström, Kerstin Avemo, Ann-Kristin Jones, Åke Zetterström, and Ingrid Tobiasson leads “Mythomania” by Paula af Malmborg Ward and Kerstin Perski. Andreas Hanson conducts the production by Clara Svärd.

Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” is set to star Palle Knudsen and Hannes Öberg in the title role. The cast will also include Mats Almgren, Ida Falk Winland, Susanna Stern, Vassilis Kavayas, Viktor Johansson, Katarina Karnéus, Ann-Kristin Jones, Markus Schwartz, Kristian Lindroos, Mia Karlsson, and Sofie Asplund.

Johanna Fridolfsson and Malin Aghed’s “Sandvargen” will star Hanna Brehmer, Åke Zetterström, Viktor Johansson, and Viveca Rydén Mårtensson. Johanna Fridolfsson conducts the production by Emelie Sigelius.

Wagner’s “Der fliegende Holländer” stars Craig Colclough, Mats Almgren, Åsa Jäger, Kjetil Støa, and Katarina Giotas. Alevtina Ioffe and Aivis Greters conduct the production by Alessandro Talevi.

Rameau’s “Platée” is set to star Kristian Lindroos, Wiktor Sundqvist, Carolina Sandgren, Hannes Öberg, Mia Karlsson, Anders J Dahlin, Mattias Ermedahl, Sofie Asplund, and Ann-Kristin Jones. Paul Agnew conducts the production by Andreas Kriegenburg.

“Pierrot in the light of Bach” will be performed.
