The Göteborg Opera has announced its 2026-27 Season.

In “Marital Secrets,” the company will present a double bill featuring “On the Harmfulness of Tobacco” and “Il segreto di Susanna.” Mattias Ermedahl and Carolina Sandgren star in Louise Ahlsell’s production.

Ida Falk Winland, Tobias Westman, and Orhan Yildiz lead Verdi’s “La Traviata” with Aivis Greters conducting and Silvia Paoli directing.

Performance Dates: Sept. 12-Oct. 18, 2026

Lorin Maazel’s “1984” will star Jonah Spungin, Susanna Stern, Erik Rosenius, Tyler Johnson, Adam Frandsen, Sofie Asplund, Orhan Yildiz, Ann-Kristin Jones, and Micaela Sjöstedt. Tobias Ringborg conducts the production by Sebastian Ritschel.

Performance Dates: Oct. 31-Nov. 29, 2026

Kristoffer Töyrä, Mats Almgren, Tobias Westman, Åke Zetterström, Kerstin Avemo, Ida Falk Winland, Mia Karlsson, Hannes Öberg, Mattias Ermedahl, and Daniel Ralphsson lead Mozart’s “Die Zauberflote.”  Michael Balke  and Nathanaël Iselin conducts the production by James Bonas.

Performance Dates: Dec. 31, 2026-Jan. 21, 2027

Matilda Sterby leads Verdi’s “Luisa Miller” with Mats Almgren, Adam Frandsen, Katarina Giotas, Kristoffer Töyrä, and Orhan Yildiz. Vincenzo Milletarì conducts the production by Ilaria Lanzino.

Performance Dates: Feb. 27-April 3, 2027

Liam Bonthrone, Sofie Asplund, Hannes Öberg, Åke Zetterström, Mia Karlsson, and Fredrik Samuelsson star in Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia.” Sasha Yankevych and Nathanaël Iselin conducts the production by Rodula Gaitanou.

Performance Dates: March 18-May 21, 2027

The season concludes Massenet’s “Manon” with Kerstin Avemo, Tobias Westman, and Orhan Yildiz. Sébastien Rouland conducts the production by Eirik Stubø.
