Golda Schultz, Isabel Leonard, Davóne Tines, Dashon Burton, Nicholas Phan Headline San Francisco Performances’ 2021-22 Season

San Francisco Performances has announced its 2021-22 season which will take place across four different venues in the San Francisco area.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be on opera and vocal performances.

Theo Bleckmann will perform songs from his new album “Elegy.”

Performance Date: Oct. 20, 2021

 Tenor Nicholas Phan will perform alongside Brooklyn Rider in the premiere of Nico Muhly’s “Stranger.”

Performance Date: Oct. 21, 2021

Bass-baritone Davóne Tines will join forces with the Dover Quartet for a program featuring music by Zemlinsky, Barber, Caroline Shaw, and Brahms.

Performance Date: Nov. 9, 2021 

Soprano Golda Schultz and pianist Jonathan Ware will perform music by Clara Schumann, Emilie Mayer, Libby Larsen, Nadia Boulanger, as well as a new work by Kathleen Tagg.

Performance Date: Jan. 21, 2022

Bass-baritone Dashon Burton will perform “Lullabies” by Schumann, Dowland, Bach, Price, Vaughn Williams, and Price.

Performance Date: Feb. 5, 2022

Dashon Burton will perform music by Joseph Boulogne, William Grant Still, and Florence Price alongside the Catalyst Quartet.

Performance Date: Feb. 11, 2022

Tenor Mark Padmore will perform “Songs of the Earth” by Schubert and Bach alongside pianist Ethan Iverson.

Performance Date: March 16, 2022 

Tenor Ilker Arcayürek and pianist Simon Lepper will take on an all-Schubert program.

Performance Date: April 1, 2022

Mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard will perform music by Falla, Lorca, Villa Lobos, Rodrigo, and others alongside The Romeros.

Performance Date: April 8, 2022 

Baritone Matthias Goerne will perform music by Wagner and Strauss alongside pianist Seong-Jin Cho.

Performance Date: April 9, 2022

Mezzo-soprano Angelika Kirchschlager and pianist Julius Drake will perform Schubert’s “Winterreise.”

Performance Date: May 7, 2022
