
Glyndebourne Opera Cup Unveils 6 Finalists
By David SalazarThe Glyndebourne Opera Cup has announced the names of its final six contestants.
The final, which takes place on March 7, 2020, will feature South African mezzo-soprano Siphokazi Molteno, South Korean tenor Sungho Kim, American Baritone Edward Nelson, UK soprano Alexandra Lowe, American tenor Eric Ferring, and Chinese soprano Meigui Zhang.
The jury for the final will include Stephen Langridge, Artistic Director of Glyndebourne;
Steven Naylor, Director of Artistic Administration, Glyndebourne; Joan Matabosch, Artistic Director, Teatro Real de Madrid; Michel Franck, General Director, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées; Shirley Thomson, Director and Head of Vocal, Harrison Parrott; soprano Sumi Jo, baritone Sir Thomas Allen, and soprano Dame Felicity Lott.
The top prize winner will walk away with 15,000 pounds while second place gets 10,000 and third prize gets 7,500. A 5,000 pound award goes to Ginette Theano Prize for Most Promising Talent and to the Audience Prize winner.
