Glyndebourne Festival Announces Revised 2021 Season

The Glyndebourne Festival has announced a revised 2021 season that will run from May 20 to August 29.

“Kát’a Kabanová” will open the festival in a new production by Damiano Michieletto. The cast will include Kateřina Knĕžíková, Aigul Akhmetshina, Katarina Dalayman, Nicky Spence, Alexander Vassiliev, David Butt Philip, and Thomas Atkins. 

Performance Dates: May 29-June 19, 2021

Giancarlo Andretta conducts Mariame Clément’s production of Rossini’s “Il Turco in Italia.” The cast will include Rodion Pogossov, Elena Tsallagova, Andrea Mastroni, Michele Angelini, Mattia Olivieri, and Désirée Baraula. 

Performance Dates: May 23-June 20, 2021

Riccardo Minasi conducts a revival of Mozart’s “Così fan Tutte” starring Ida Falk Winland, Stephanie Lauricella, Alexey Neklyudov, Huw Montague Rendall, Hera Hyesang Park, and Alessandro Corbelli.

Performance Dates: July 4-August 22, 2021

Mané Galoyan stars in the title role of Verdi’s “Luisa Miller.” The cast will also include Vladislav Sulimsky, Evgeny Stavinsky, Charles Castronovo, Ivan Magri, Nadezhda Karyazina, and Krzysztof Baczyk. Enrique Mazzola conducts Christof Loy’s production. 

Performance Dates: August 1-29, 2021

Robin Ticciati will conduct a semi-staged version by Dan Dooner of Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde.” The cast will include Simon O’Neill, Miina-Liisa Värelä, Karen Cargill, Shenyang, John Relyea, Neal Cooper, and Stuart Jackson. 

Performance Dates: August 13-28, 2021

The festival will also present a concert series featuring the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
