Glyndebourne has added an extra performance of Handel’s “Semele” to the Festival 2023 schedule.

In response to the high demand for tickets, the company’s new production of “Semele” will have an added performance on August 21.

Adele Thomas directs the debut performance of “Semele” starring soprano Joélle Harvey, mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnston, and tenor Stuart Jackson. Václav Luks conducts the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.

With remaining Festival performances currently 99% sold out, the extra date will allow the company to welcome over 1000 additional people to Glyndebourne this summer. Tickets for this performance are available now.

The Glyndebourne Festival 2023 runs May 19 – August 27.
