Gloria Rehm Takes Over Deutsche Oper Berlin’s Final ‘Die Entführung aus dem Serail’

Soprano Gloria Rehm will replace Alexandra Hutton in the role of Blonde in the Mozart and Stephanie’s “Die Entführung aus dem Serail” at the Deutsche Oper Berlin on Feb. 18, per an official statement on the company’s website.

Rehm will join the cast for the final performance in the run that includes Annabelle Mandeng, Flurina Stucki, Matthew Newlin, Ya-Chung Huang and Patrick Guetti. Nicholas Milton is set to conduct the production by Rodrigo García.

Rehm has recently performed the roles of Oscar in Verdi and Somma’s “Un Ballo in Maschera,” Gilda in Verdi and Piave’s “Rigoletto,” and Gretel in Humperdinck’s “Hänsel und Gretel” at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. The soprano has also appeared in the role of Zerbinetta in Strauss and Hofmannstahl’s “Ariadne auf Naxos” at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, as well as the role of Königin der Nacht in Mozart and Schikaneder “Die Zauberflöte” at the Oper Frankfurt, among others.

Alexandra Hutton is set to be back to the stage for the opening night of Wagner’s “Parsifal” on May 17, 2020.
