George London Foundation Competition Announces 2022 Finalists

The George London Foundation Competition has announced the finalists for the 2022 edition.

Bass-baritone Joseph Parrish will sing “Aprite un po’quegli occhi” from “Le Nozze di Figaro” while tenor Eric Ferring will take on “Una furtiva lagrima” from “L’Elisir d’Amore.” Soprano Erika Baikoff will perform “No word from Tom” from “The Rake’s Progress” and baritone Erik Grendhal will present “Pierrot’s Tanzlied” from “Die tote Stadt.”

Soprano Sophie Naubert will interpret “Non, Monsieur mon Mari” from “Les mamelles de Tirésius” with countertenor Cody Bowers taking on “Già l’ebro mio ciglio” from “Orlando.” Bass Edwin Jhamal Davis will present “Ha! Wie will ich triumphieren” from “Die Entführung aus dem Serail” and Timothy Murray will compete with “Vi mnye pisali” from “Eugene Onegin.”

Singing “Zwangvolle Plage” from “Siegfried” will be tenor Thomas Cilluffo and giving audiences the “Air des Lettres” from “Werther will be mezzo Megan Moore. Rounding out the performance will be renditions of “Che gelida manina” from “La Bohème” by tenor Christopher Oglesby” and “Carlo, écoute” from “Don Carlo by baritone Blake Densey.

The artists will be accompanied by pianist Michael Fennelly.

The final is set to take place on Feb. 25, 2022 at The Morgan Library Museum’s Gilder Lehrmann Hall. It kicks off at 4 p.m. ET and can be live streamed via the company’s official social media channels.
