Génesis Moreno Wins Top Prizes at XLII Concurso Carlo Morelli

Venezuelan soprano Génesis Moreno took home the top prize at the XLII Concurso Carlo Morelli.

The final, which took place at the Teatro del Palacio de Bellas Artes, saw the soprano take home the Top Female Singer Prize, the audience prize, the Prize for Top Female Singer – Zarzuela Etelvina Rodríguez, the Premio Escena77, the Premio OSIPN, and the Premio Híbrido Ópera Lab.

Per an official press release issued by GoDirect, the soprano performed from “Lucia di Lammermoor” for her opera selection.

Moreno’s upcoming slate includes a run of “Roméo et Juliette” at the Ópera de Oviedo this October. She has previously performed at the Ópera de Bellas Artes, Sociedad Artística Sinaloense, and Fondazione del Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
