
Garsington Opera Names New Executive Director
By David SalazarGarsington Opera has announced that Ben Weston will become its next Executive Director.
He will take over on Nov. 10, 2025, succeeding Nicky Creed, who was at the helm as Executive Director since 2013 after 14 years as Associate Director.
Creed will work with Weston over the next few months to ensure a smooth transition.
Weston’s career includes award-winning live broadcasts and documentaries for international broadcasters, streamers, and arts organizations, with collaborations spanning the Royal Opera, Glyndebourne, and Opera North. Weston, a former BBC Proms producer and executive producer, also oversaw the BBC’s coverage of Queen Elizabeth II’s “Diamond Jubilee” in 2012, including the concert staged in front of Buckingham Palace. More recently, he served as Executive Producer at Atomized Studios in London. His productions have garnered a BAFTA, an International Emmy, a Royal Television Society Award, two Broadcast Awards, and the Golden Prague Czech Crystal.
He was also appointed Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order (LVO) by Queen Elizabeth II for his contributions to the Diamond Jubilee broadcast.
