La Fundacio Òpera de Catalunya is joining forces with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Catalunya to present “Turandot.”

The opera, scheduled for performances between April 17 and May 17, will be headlined by Maribel Ortega and Eugenia Montenegro in the title role. Joining them are Antoni Lliteres and Nacho Guzmán as Calaf, Ivana Ledesma and Violeta Alarcón as Liù, and Gonzalo Ruiz and Jeroboám Tereja as Timur.

Daniel Gil de Tejada conducts and Carles Ortiz directs the production.

“Turandot is a character that has accompanied me since my debut at the Ópera de Oviedo in 2012, transforming and redefining itself as I have matured,” Ortega noted in an official press statement regarding her relationship with the famed Puccini opera.

In sum, there will be 10 performances throughout the run.
