Frederica Von Stade, Catherine Cook Star in Opera Parallèle’s 2019-20 Srason

Opera Parallèle has announced its 2019-20 season.

It all kicks off with “Bill and Flicka: Generous Spirits,” a performance featuring legendary artists William Burden and Frederica Von Stade. They will also perform alongside Christabel Nunoo with Keisuke Nakagoshi at the piano.

Performance Date: Sept. 19, 2020

A “Because of You” annual benefit gala will be held at the San Francisco War Memorial & Performing Arts Center. Marnie Breckenridge, Catherine Cook, Bojan Knezevic, and Keisuke Nakaghosi will perform.

Performance Date: Oct. 2, 2019

The company will present “Bon Appétit,” a one-act opera about Julia Child. Playing the icon will be Catherine Cook, who will be accompanied by pianist Keisuke Nakagoshi.

Performance Dates: Feb. 16, 17, 2020 

Stewart Wallace and Michael Korie’s “Harvey Milk” makes a return with Nicole Paiement conducting a cast that includes Matthew Worth in the title role. David Walton, Christian Sanders, Tai Oney, and Marnie Breckenridge, also star.

Performance Dates: May 15-17, 2020
