Frederica von Stade Announces Final Album

The legendary mezzo-soprano will join Musica Viva NY in an album entitled “Crimson Roses: Contemporary American Choral Music” for Naxos.
The album showcases the choir alongside artistic director/conductor, Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez performing music by Joseph Turrin, Richard Einhorn, and Gilda Lyons.
The first piece is “And Crimson Roses Once Again Be Fair” by Joseph Turrin followed by Richard Einhorn’s “The Luminous Ground.” The final piece is Gilda Lyons’ a capella work “Momotombo.”
Von Stade appears as the soloist in Turrin’s work while the soprano soloist is Erinn Sensenig.
Von Stade has performed at all the world’s great opera houses and concert halls. She has made over 70 recordings with every major label, and her recordings have garnered six GRAMMY nominations, two Grand Prix du Disque awards, the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik, Italy’s Premio della Critica Discografica, and “Best of the Year” citations by Stereo Review and Opera News.
The album is set to be released on Nov. 22, 2024.
