Freddie De Tommaso & Saioa Hernández Lead new CD/DVD Releases

This week audiences are in for a complete Verdi recording and an album of music by Antonio Caldara.

Un Ballo in Maschera 

Maestro Marek Janowski, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, and the Transylvania State Philharmonic Choir present Verdi’s masterwork. The cast includes Freddie De Tommaso, Lester Lynch, Saioa Hernández, Elisabeth Kulman, and Annika Gerhards.

On this recording, Freddie De Tommaso and Saioa Hernández make their Pentatone debut.

The Venetian baroque composer Antonio Caldara wrote roughly 3,400 pieces of music in his lifetime and rising star violist and bass-baritone Alexandre Baldo unearths and records, hitherto unknown bass arias by Caldara.

A Left Coast

Baritone Tyler Duncan and pianist Erika Switzer release their new album on Bridge Records. In a showcase of Canada’s West Coast new music scene, Duncan and Switzer have compiled songs written by friends and colleagues from University of British Columbia’s School of Music. The album include music by Stephen Chatman, Jean Coulthard, Iman Habibi, Melissa Hui, Jocelyn Morlock, and Leslie Uyeda.
