Freddie De Tommaso & David Butt Philip Among Royal Academy of Music Honorees

The Royal Academy of Music has announced distinguished musicians and educators to whom honors will be conferred at its 2023 Graduation Ceremony.

The school said that it will celebrate a range of artists who move music forward, including Academy alumni and associates who continue to shape the musical landscape.

Among artists in the operatic world include Royal Opera Music Director Designate Jakub Hrůša, Freddie De Tommaso, and David Butt Philip. Other musicians who will be honored are lgendary composer James Newton Howard, Beverley Knight, Hilary Hahn, Maria João Pires and Kate Paterson.
Others include Jacob Collier and Professor Susan Hallam.

In a statement, the Academy’s Principal, Jonathan Freeman-Attwood CBE, said: “As we look ahead to our third century, I’m delighted to celebrate this outstanding list of honorands who are shaping the future of music. They represent a breadth of musical genres and areas of the profession in which we are very proud to see Academy students excel across the globe.”
