Francesco Meli, Desirèe Rancatore & Gianluca Terranova Lead Teatro Carlo Felice’s 2020-21 Season

The Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa has announced the first part of the 2020-21 season.

“Il Trespolo tutore” opens the season with Andrea De Carlo conducting a cast that includes Marco Bussi, Raffaella Milanesi, Carlo Vistoli, Juan Sancho, Silvia Frigato, and Paola Valentina Molinari.

Performance Dates: Sept. 29-Oct. 2, 2020

Léhar’s “The Merry Widow” is set to star Elisa Balbo and Desirèe Rancatore as Hanna Glawari, Luca Micheletti, and Michele Patti as Conte Danilo Danilowitsch, Francesca Benitez and Luisa Kurtz as Valencienne, and Pietro Adaìni and Matteo Falcier as Camille de Roussillon. Lorenzo Passerini conducts Luca Micheletti’s new production.

Performance Dates: Nov. 27-Dec. 6, 2020

The year comes to a close with Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci” with two casts. Francesco Meli and Gianluca Terranova star as Canio while Serena Gamberoni and Angela Nisi take the on the role of Nedda. The cast is round out by Sebastian Catana, Ivan Inverardi, Michele Patti, and Marcello Rosiello. Andriy Yurkevych conducts the new production by Cristian Taraborrelli.

Performance Dates: Dec. 22, 2020-Jan. 3, 2021
