The Opéra de Paris has announced a cast change for the 2019-20 season.

The company announced that Francesco Demuro will replace Vittorio Grigolo in performances of Puccini’s “La Bohème” at the Opéra de Paris. Demuro will take over performances on June 13 through 28, 2020. Grigolo will sing performances on July 2 through 11, 2020. As a result, he will only perform alongside Marina Costa-Jackson, who sings the title role.T

The change was due to Grigolo’s performances of “Lucia di Lammermoor” at the Royal Opera, which are scheduled for the same dates. He stars alongside Nadine Sierra in London.

Demuro will sing alongside Ermonela Jaho, Lucas Meachem, and Julie Fuchs in Puccini’s masterpiece.

“La Bohème” is set to open on June June 13 with a second cast headed by Benjamin Bernheim, Elena Stikhina, Elena Tsallagova, and Gabriele Viviani. Lorenzo Viotti conducts the production by Claus Guth.
