France’s Opéra-Théâtre de l’Eurométropole de Metz has announced its 2022-23 season featuring seven operatic productions. 

Beatrice Venezi conducts Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” with Giovanna Spinelli directing. Francesca Tiburzi, Thomas Bettinger, Vikena Kamenica, and Jean-Luc Ballestra star.

Performance Dates: Oct. 2-6, 2022

“Frankenstein Junior” will be conducted by Aurélien Azan Zielinski and directed by Paul-Émile Fourny. Vincent Heden, Jean-Fernand Setti, Grégory Juppin, Lisa Lanteri, Léonie Renaud, Valérie Zaccomer, Laurent Montel, Christian Tréguier, and Clément Malczuk star.

Performance Dates: Oct. 28-30, 2022

Patrick Burgan’s “Engima” will star Antoine Bélanger and Jean-Michel Richer. The production will be directed Paul-Émile Fourny and conducted by Daniel Kawka.

Performance Dates: Nov. 18-22, 2022

Haydn’s “Il Mondo della Luna” is set to be conducted by David Reiland and directed by Pierre Thirion-Vallet. The cast includes Sébastien Droy, Mireille Lebel, Enguerrand de Hys, Romain Dayez, Déborah Salazar-Sanfeld, Catherine Trottmann, and Victoire Bunel.

Performance Dates: Jan. 25-29, 2023

“Xynthia, L’Odyssee de l’Eau” will be conducted by Yann Molenat and directed by Mikaël Serre. Emmanuelle Jakubek, Stéphanie Guérin, Fabien Hyon, and Halidou Nombre star.

Performance Date: Feb. 11, 2023

Offenbach’s “Le Voyage dans la Lune” will star Jeanne Crousaud, Jennifer Michel, Cécile Galois, Violette Polchi, Matthieu Lécroart, Raphaël Brémard, Érick Freulon, and Christophe Poncet de Solages. Chloé Dufresne conducts the production by Olivier Fredj. 

Performance Dates: March 4 & 5, 2023

Yana Kleyn, Insung Sim, Ho-Yoon Chung, Emanuela Pascu, and Irina Stopina star in Dvorak’s “Rusalka” with  Kaspar Zehnder conducting and Paul-Émile Fourny directing.
