Fort Worth Opera Names 2024-25 Hattie Mae Lesley Young Artists
By David SalazarFort Worth Opera revealed the four singers set to comprise its 2024-25 Hattie Mae Lesley Young Artists.
The quartet of artists includes Hannah Madeleine Goodman (soprano), Mariam Mouawad (mezzo-soprano), Ndumiso Nyoka (tenor), and Seth-Emmanuel Clarke (bass-baritone) will be the company’s new Resident Artists.
As Resident Artists, the quartet will be mentored by major professionals in mainstage productions of “Little Women” and “La Cenerentola” and will mentor students of the I.M. Terrell High School in a production of “The Elixir of Love” in January 2025. They will also sing at community, social, and donor events while receiving lessons, coaching, and masterclasses.
Goodman has performed with such organizations as Los Angeles Opera and Fort Worth Opera. She was also a semifinialist in the 2023 Camille Coloratura Awards and had a guest star appearance on “Glee.”
Mouawad hails from Lebanon and recently completed a program at the Music Academy of West. She is also a winner of the Marilyn Horne Song Competition.
Nyoka, a South African tenor, has performed with the Dallas Opera and Fort Worth Opera. He also sang at the funeral of former South African president Nelson Mandela.
Finally, Clarke was an Education Artist at The Dallas Opera and performed in the 2024 Hart Institute Conductors’ Showcase.
