Fort Worth Opera has announced a virtual artistic residency with renowned soprano Jennifer Rowley.

This collaboration will see Rowley leading a series of masterclasses, lectures, and discussions with singers, directors, and industry insiders.

The eight-week program will be held via Zoom, and instructions for singers to audition will be announced shortly on Fort Worth Opera’s website, with auditions beginning on June 1 2020. The classes themselves will focus on aspects such as vocal technique, repertoire, language skills, acting, and developing a character, with Rowley being joined by guest artists.

There will also be discussions with industry professionals on such topics as the business of singing, and the growing use of technology and digital media in the field of opera.

For each online class, four to five artists will be chosen for that weekend, with the first ninety individuals allowed to secure a spot to audit and observe the class.
