Fort Worth Opera Announces Lesley Resident Artists 2019-20

Fort Worth Opera has announced soprano Abigail Rethwisch and tenor Darius Thomas the Lesley Resident Artists for the 2019-20 season.

As Resident Artists, Rethwisch and Thomas will perform at numerous events, perform recitals, and obtain lessons and coaching. They will also appear in masterclasses at Fort Worth Opera.

Rethwisch was a member of the Santa Fe Apprentice Artist program in 2017 and 2018. She has also trained with Chautauqua Opera and Des Moines Metro Opera’s programs. The soprano has appeared with such organizations as Opera Southwest, Utah Opera, and Intermountain Opera.

Thomas is set to appear with a Knoxville Opera and was a part of the Mary Ragland Emerging Artists program with Nashville Opera.

Additionally, the Fort Worth Opera announced that pianist Charlene Lotz will be the company’s head of Music Staff. She has served as a vocal coach and rehearsal pianist for the company’s productions of “Maria de Buenos Aires,” “El Pasado Nunca se Termina,” and “Three Pigs Remix.”
