Fondazione Teatro Donizetti Announces 2019-20 Season

The Fondazione Teatro Donizetti has announced its 2019-20 season featuring three operas and operettas.

Opera

Maria Teresa Leva sings the title role in Verdi’s “Aida” with a cast that includes Samuele Simoncini, Cristina Melis, Leon Kim, and Fabrizio Beggi. Francesco Cilluffo conducts Franco Zeffirelli’s historical production.

Performance Dates: Dec. 13 & 15, 2019

Bellini’s “La Sonnambula” will be conducted by Leonardo Sini and is set to star Davide Giangregorio, Ruzil Gatin, and Veronica Marini and Julia Muzychenko in the title role.

Performance Dates: Jan. 10 & 12, 2020

Jacopo Brusa conducts Rossini “Guglielmo Tell” with a cast that includes Gezim Myshketa and Michele Patti sharing the title role, Giulio Pelligra and Matteo Falcier as Arnoldo, and Marigona Qerkezi and Clarissa Costanzo as Matilde.

Performance Dates: Jan. 24 & 26, 2020

Operetta

Paul Abrahan’s “Ballo al Savoy” will be directed by Alessandro Brachetti.

Performance Date: Feb. 2, 2020

J. Strauss’ “Sul Bel Danubio Blu” will be conducted by Marco Fiorini in a production by Inscena srl.

Performance Date: Feb. 16, 2020

Giuseppe Pietri’s “L’Acqua Cheta” will be directed Alessandro Brachetti.

Performance Date: March 15, 2020
