Focus Features has released the first teaser for its upcoming film “TÁR.”
Cate Blanchet stars in the film inspired by conductor Eva Brunelli, who was the first woman to conduct the Berliner Philharmoniker in 1923. The film will tell the story of Lydia Tár, an alter ego of Eva Brunelli.
“TÁR” is directed by Todd Field, who has not made a film since the Oscar-nominated “Little Children” in 2006.
Mark Strong, Julian Glover, Sydney Lemmon, Nina Hoss, Noémie Merlant, Sam Douglas, and Vincent Riotta also star. The movie will also feature a score by Oscar-winning composer Hildur Guðnadóttir.
The new film is set to make its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival and will open in theaters on Oct. 7, 2022.
