The Florida Grand Opera has announced the cast for its first production, “A Streetcar Named Desire.”

The opera, which was composed by Andre Previn, will star Nicholas Huff as Harold Mitchell, Steven LaBrie as Stanley Kowalski, Elizabeth Caballero as Blanche Dubois, and Rebecca Krynski Cox as Stella Kowalski. Gregory Buchalter is set to conduct the production.

The production will mark the return of Mitchell, who was a studio artist of the Florida Grand Opera while LaBrie will return to the company following his acclaimed performances in “Florencia en el Amazonas” in 2018. Cox will be making her company debut while Caballero returns to the company where she has performed such operas as “Turandot,” “La Rondine,” and “Don Giovanni.”

The opera opens on Jan. 22 and will run through Feb. 5. The work will be performed in Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
