
Florida Grand Opera Announces 2025-26 Season Featuring Aleksandra Kurzak, Roberto Alagna, Jonathan Tetelman, Jennifer Rowley & Joyce El-Khoury
By David SalazarFlorida Grand Opera has announced its 2025-26 season, the first under General Director and CEO Maria Todaro.
“In my first year leading this company, my focus was on stabilizing FGO, building a strong team, re-energizing longtime opera lovers, and creating excitement in our community to attract new audiences. Now, as we enter the next season, we are committed to expanding our vision by crafting dynamic, immersive opera experiences that resonate with both seasoned aficionados and first-time attendees,” Todaro said per an official press statement.
The season will open with the Richard Tucker Music Foundation 50th Anniversary Gala — Miami Edition, marking the first time this prestigious event will be presented in Miami.
Performance Dates: Nov. 9, 2025
Kevin Puts and Mark Campbell’s Pulitzer Prize-winning opera “Silent Night” will star Susanne Burgess, Sarah Joy Miller, Kameron Lopreore, Mark Diamond, David Margulis, Joseph O’Shea, Catherin Meza, Alex Desocio, Andrew Garland, Craig Irvin, Elliot Madore, Kyle Albertson, James Mancuso, and William Dopp. Tomer Zvulun directs and Christopher Allen conducts.
“We couldn’t think of a more fitting way to open our season than with Silent Night, especially in November, when we honor our veterans and wartime heroes on Veterans Day. This season also marks the launch of Voices of Wellness, a new FGO initiative that invites first responders, veterans, military personnel, and medical professionals to experience the magic of opera,” the company added.
Performance Dates: Nov. 15-18, 2025 (Miami) and Dec. 4 & 6, 2025 (Fort Lauderdale)
Then comes “Die Fledermaus.” Jesus Garcia, Rebecca Nelsen, Joyce El-Khoury, John Viscardi, and Ginger Costa-Jackson star while Pablo Mielgo conducts.
Performance Dates: Jan. 24 – 27, 2026 (Miami)
Closing out the main stage season is “Turandot.” Aleksandra Kurzak and Jennifer Rowley sing the title role with a cast that includes Roberto Alagna, Dominick Chenes, and Adam Lau.
Performance Dates: March 7 – 10, 2026 (Miami) and March 26 & 28, 2026 (Fort Lauderdale)
The season will conclude with Opera & All-Stars with Bernie Williams, Jonathan Tetelman, and friends. The concert, will be presented by Florida Grand Opera and All-Star Encore.
Performance Date: May 6, 2026
