Bass-baritone Florian Boesch will give a recital at the Teatro de la Zarzuela on Jan. 25, 2021.

Boesch will perform Franz Schubert’s song cycle “Winterreise,” op. 89, D 911 alongside pianist Justus Zeyen.

The presentation of “Winterreise” marks Boesch’s second performance at Teatro de la Zarzuela this season. For his first concert in the lied cycle on Sep. 28, 2020, Boesch presented a selection of lieder by Franz Schubert and Hugo Wolf. The performance also included the Six Monologues from “Jedermann” by Frank Martin.

Florian Boesch recently performed the role of Count Almaviva in Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” at the Mozart Week in Salzburg, the title role in Handel’s “Saul,” the title role in Berg’s “Wozzeck,” and the role of Zoroastro in Handel’s “Orlando” at Theater an der Wien.

The bass-baritone is scheduled to return to the stage in the role of Count Almaviva for a performance of “Le Nozze di Figaro” at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden in May 2021.
