Fiorenza Cedolins to Receive Puccini Award

On Dec. 22 the 51st Puccini Awards will be held at the Auditorium Enrico Caruso in Torre del Lago, Italy.

Among the major award recipients will be soprano Fiorenza Cedolins and superintendant Carlo Fuortes.

Cedolins is a Puccini specialist and has performed the roles of Tosca, Mimì in “La Bohème,” Cio Cio San in “Madama Butterfly,” and the title role of “Turandot.” She has also performed at the Teatro Carlo Felice, Split Summer Festival, and the Arena di Verona.

Meanwhile, Fuortesis the superintendent of the Teatro dell’Opera de Roma since 2013 and is also a representative for RAI.

The awards are given during Puccini month, which began on Nov. 29 and runs through Jan. 1, 2022. In addition to the awards, the Festival Puccini will offer the possibility for audience members to get half price tickets for productions of “Madama Butterfly,” “Tosca,” “Turandot,” and “La Rondine,” which will be presented during the 2022 season.
