Finnish National Opera Cancels ‘Cavalleria Rusticana’ & ‘Pagliacci’ Performance

The Finnish National Opera has canceled its Sept. 9 performance of “Cavalleria Rusticana” and “Pagliacci.”

The company announced that due to a technical failure the performance would be able to go on. The company noted that as result, it will be contacting customers who have purchased tickets and give them the option of refunding or obtaining a credit for another performance. Refund requests must be made by Oct. 31, 2021.

The performance was set to star Niina Keitel, Johanna Lehesvuori, Eduardo Aladren, Jorge Lagunes, Marjukka Tepponen, Mika Pohjonen, Johannes Vatjus, and Simon Mechlinski. Hannu Lintu conducts the production by Damiano Michieletto.

The run of “Cavalleria Rusticana” and “Pagliacci” runs through Sept. 14 with the next performance scheduled for Sept. 11.
