The finalists for Alan M. and Joan Taub Ades Vocal Competition have been announced.

Among the finalists are five sopranos – Xiaotong Cao, Hanna Friesen, Sasha Gutiérrez, Hyeree Shin, and Kelly Singer. There are also two mezzo-sopranos, including Sae Lin Kim and Polixeni Tziouvaras. The lone male finalist is baritone Daniel Rich. All were selected through a preliminary audition after being nominated by their respective teachers at the Manhattan School of Music.

The final of the competition is slated to take place on March 28, 2019, at the Manhattan School of Music. The judges include Denyce Graves, Peter Russell, and Diane Zola. Russell is the General Director of Vocal Arts DC while Zola is Assistant General Manager at the Metropolitan Opera.

The artists will compete for up $40,000 cash prize in support of their professional development.
