Festival Verdi to Present ‘La traviata. Lo spirito di Violetta’
By Francisco SalazarThe Festival Verdi’s project “Scintille d’Opera,” in collaboration with Verdi Off, Caravan Verdiano returns to numerous piazzas with “La traviata. Lo spirito di Violetta.”
The performances will be held on a mobile stage that will be brought to Busseto, Montechiarugolo, Parma, and Baganzola.
“Lo spirito di Violetta” features a libretto and direction by Manuel Renga with costumes by Aurelio Colombo. The production reinterprets the story through flashbacks as Alexandre Dumas does in his famed novel “Dame aux Camélias.”
Violetta’s story is told by an actor and actress from the Compagnia del Cerchio with soloists soprano Adriana Iozzia as Violetta, tenor Matteo Mezzaro as Alfredo, and baritone Daniele Terenzio as Germont. Claudio Cirelli accompanies on piano.
Performances are scheduled for Busseto on Sept. 19, Montechiarugolo on Sept. 25, Parma on Spet. 26, Baganzola on Oct. 3. Reservations are mandatory prior to the performances.
