Festival Verdi Announces Cast Change for Gala Verdiano

The Teatro Regio di Parma has announced that Maria Agresta will sing the Gala Verdiano on Oct. 10, 2021.

The gala, which will be performed during the Festival Verdi, was originally set to star Eleonora Buratto. However, due to health reasons, she was forced to cancel all her October dates.

In a statement, Buratto said, “With profound disappointment, I am forced to cancel the Gala Verdiano. I want to let the Teatro Regio and its audience how much I regret not being able to participate in this edition but as soon as I can return to Parma, I will be happy to contribute to the great city and its festival.

The gala, which will now star Agresta, will also see Gabriele Viviani and pianist Michele D’Elia. The program will be announced in the coming days.
