Festival Verdi has announced the operas for the 2025 edition, which will take place between Sept. 20 and Oct. 18, 2025.

The theme for the Festival will be Verdi and Shakespeare and will celebrate the 25th edition in Parma and Busetto.

The operas that will be showcased are “Otello,” “Macbeth (1847),” and “Falstaff.” Otello and Falstaff will be shown in a new critical edition prepared by the University of Chicago Press and Casa Ricordi.

“Otello” will be performed at the Teatro Regio di Parma in a new production.

Performance Dates: Sept. 26-Oct. 19, 2025

The 1847 version of “Macbeth” will be performed at the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi di Busseto. 

Performance Dates: Sept. 27-Oct. 17, 2025

The final opera, “Falstaff” will be shown at the Teatro Regio di Parma and will be performed in Jacopo Spirei’s 2017 production.

Performance Dates: Oct. 3-16, 2025

Concerts 

The festival will also showcase a Verdi Gala on Oct. 10 and the Messa di Requiem on Oct. 18.
