Marina Rebeka, Lidia Fridman, Luciano Ganci & Francesco Meli Lead Festival Verdi’s 2024 Season

The Festival Verdi has announced its 2024 season. The festival will take place in Parma and Busseto from Sept. 21 and Oct. 21, 2024.

Opera

The season opens with the Verdi Street Parade at the Parma, Centro storico and Oltretorrente.

Performance Date: Sept. 21, 2024

Verdi’s Macbeth will be presented at the Teatro Regio di Parma in its French version in a new production. Lidia Fridman and Ernesto Petti star in the production by Pierre Audi. Michele Pertusi, Riccardo Fassi, and Luciano Ganci round out the cast with Roberto Abbado conducting.

Performance Dates: Sept. 26-Oct. 17, 2024

“Un Ballo in Maschera” is set to be presented in a new production at the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi di Busseto. Fabio Biondi conducts the opera in a production by Daniele Menghini. The cast includes Giovanni Sala, Davide Tuscano, Lodovico Filippo Ravizza, Caterina Marchesini, Ilaria Alida Quilico, Danbi Lee, Licia Piermatteo, and Fan Zhou.

Performance Dates: Sept. 27-Oct. 18, 2024

“La Battaglia di Legnano” will be presented in a new production at the Teatro Regio di Parma. Marian Rebeka, Francesco Meli, Vladimir Stoyanov, and Riccardo Fassi star with Valentina Carrasco directing. Diego Ceretta conducts.

Performance Dates: Sept. 29-Oct. 20, 2024

The Teatro Girolamo Magnani di Fidenza will present “Atilla” in concert. Giorgi Manoshvili, George Petean, Marta Torbidoni, and Luciano Ganci star. Riccardo Frizza the early masterwork.

Performance Dates: Oct. 3 & 11, 2024

Concerts 

The festival will present a choral concert “Fuoco di Gioia.”

Performance Date: Oct. 2, 2024

The Verdi gala will be conducted by Francesco Lanzillotta and will feature music from “Ernani,” “I Vespri Siciliani,” “Simon Boccanegra,” and “Don Carlo.” Vladimir Sotyanov, Luciano Ganic, Alessia Panza, Giorgi Manosvhili, Luca Salsi, Lodovico Filippo Ravizza ,and Fan Zhou star.

Performance Date: Oct. 10, 2024

There will be a gala of the Accademia Verdiana.

Performance Date: Oct. 14, 2024

James Conlon conducts the Verdi Requiem with Roberta Mantegna, Szilvia Voros, Fabio Sartori, and Mika Kares.
