Festival Valle d’Itria to Livestream ‘Il Borghese Gentiluomo’

The Festival Valle d’Itria is set to open livestream its opening night production of “Il Borghese Gentiluomo.”

The production will be shown on Web TV della Fondazione Paolo Grassi and on Italiafestival.tv at 8 p.m. CET.

Featuring music by Richard Strauss, the Moliere play has been adapted by Quirino Principe and Valeria Zaurino. The production is directed by Davide Gasparro with Michele Spotti conducting.

The cast includes baritone Vittorio Prato, Ana Victoria Pitts, Barbara Massaro, Manuel Amati, Nico Franchini, Vassily Solodkyy, Alfonso Zambuto, Alberto Comes, Eugenio Di Lieto, and Djokic Strahinja.

The Festival is scheduled to open a production of “Ariadne auf Naxos” in Italian starring Carmela Remigio and Piero Pretti. It will also show recitals with Lidia Fridman, Francesco Meli, and Luca Salsi.
