Festival Puccini Announces 2023 Season

The Festival Puccini di Torre del Lago, which is set to run between July 14 to August 26, 2023, has announced its 69th edition.

The festival will showcase four operas in all, including three new productions.

Claudia Pavone, Oreste Cosimo, Federica Guida, Alessandro Luongo, Sergio Bologna, and Antonio Di Matteo star in Puccini’s “La Bohème” in a production by Christophe Gayral. Alberto Veronesi conducts.

Performance Dates: July 14-August 25, 2023

Pier Luigi Pizzi directs Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” with Carolina Lopez Moreno, Alessandra Volpe, Luciano Ganci, and Bruno Taddia. Francesco Cilluffo conducts.

Performance Dates: July 28-August 24, 2023

Sandra Janusaite stars in the title role of Puccini’s “Turandot” with Antonio Di Matteo, Amadi Lagha, and Emanuela Sgarlata. Daniele Abbado directs with Robert Trevino conducting.

Performance Dates: July 15-August 19, 2023

Puccini’s “Il Tabarro” and Bartok’s “Bluebeard’s Castle” will be presented in a double bill directed by Johannes Erath. Michele Gamba conducts. Lucio Gallo, Monica Zanettin, Azer Zada, and Loriana Castellano lead Puccini’s work while Mikhail Petrenko and Szilvia Voros lead Bartok’s opera.
