Festival Opera in Walnut Creek, California, has announced its 2025 season.

Festival Opera’s Spring Soiree wil be an annual company benefit event with musical performances by Festival Opera artists Shawnette Sulker, Courtney Miller, Taylor Thompson, and pianist Daniel Lockert with benefit host Zachary Gordin.

Performance Date: May 3, 2025

Ruggero Leoncavallo’s classic one-act opera “Pagliacci” will be performed in concert Vincent Chambers (Canio), Lila Khazoum (Nedda), Igor Vieira (Tonio), Luis Alejandro Orozco (Silvio), and Taylor Thompson (Beppe). Chun Mei Wilson will accompany on the piano.

Performance Dates: June 26 & 29, 2025

Salon Series will be performed at Piedmont Center for the Arts Baroque Queens will feature artists Nikola Printz, Joshua Mikus-Mahoney, Jon Mendle, and Zachary Gordin. They will perform the music of Monteverdi, Handel, Purcell, more.

The ENCORE! Portraits of Disquiet & At the Statue of Venus will feature Carrie Hennessey and Daniel Lockert. The program includes music of Julia Seeholzer’s Portraits of Disquiet and Jake Heggie’s At the Statue of Venus.

Performance Date: August 24, 2025

Bel Canto Forever! will feature Shawnette Sulker, Sara Couden, and Zachary Gordin performing 19th-century bel canto music of Rossini, Bellini, Delibes, and Meyerbeer.

Performance Date: Sept. 28, 2025

Verdi’s “La Traviata” will be performed in a semi-staged concert version with Jamie Chamberlin, Nathan Granner, and Zachary Gordin. Matilda Hofman conducts.
