
Festival de Ópera de Sevilla Announces 2025 Season Featuring Leonor Bonilla, Alessio Arduini, Franco Fagioli & Pablo García-López

Opera
Manuel Garcia’s “Il califfo di Bagdad” will be directed by Guillermo Amaya and conducted by Alessandro D’Agostini. Juan de Dios Mateos, Leonor Bonilla, Pepe Hannan, Alicia Naranjo, Nerea Berraondo, and Eugenio Maria Degiacomi star.
Performance Dates: Sept. 25 & 27, 2025
Philip Glass’ “Les Enfants terrible” will be directed by Susana Gómez. Juan García Rodríguez conducts the production by Clara Barbier, Lydia Vinyes-Curtis, Samy Camps, and Dietrich Henschel.
Performance Dates: Sept. 26-Oct. 5, 2025
“Quien porfía mucho alcanza” by Manuel García will star Carolina Moncada, Gerardo Bullón, Pancho Corujo, and Ruth Terán. Emiliano Suárez conducts and Rubén Sánchez-Vieco directs.
Performance Dates: Sept. 28-30, 2025
Monteverdi’s “Il Combattimento di Tancredi” will star Rocío Martínez, Anna Alàs i Jove, Francisco Fernández Rueda, and Víctor Sordo. Fausto Nardi conducts.

“Don Juan no Existe” by Helena Cánovas and Alberto Iglesias will be conducted by Jhoanna Sierralta. Bárbara Lluch directs the production which stars Sachika Ito, Josep-Ramón Olivé, and Pablo García-López.

Emilio Pomàrico conducts César Camarero’s “Es Lo Contrario.”

Iván López Reynoso and Mariano García Valladares conduct Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” in a production by Cecilia Ligorio. There will be two casts that include Alessio Arduini, Jan Antem, Ekaterina Bakanova, Bryndís Guðjónsdóttir, Marco Ciaponi, Pablo Martínez, George Andguladze, Luis López, Julie Boulianne, Karen Gardeazabal, David Menéndez, Emmanuel Franco, Marina Monzó, Montserrat Seró, Ricardo Seguel, and Yoshihiko Miyashita.

Vivica Genaux performs Scarlatti with Egon Mihajlovic, Rami Alqhai, and Carles Blanch.

Fahmi Alqhai conducts a baroque program with Juan Sancho, Lucía Martín-Cartón, Leonardo Rossi, Johanna Rose, and Rami Alqhai.

Franco Fagioli and Michele D’Elia perform in recital works by Scarlatti, Cavalli, Cesti, Lotti, Händel, Giacomelli, Mozart, Bellini, Donizetti, and Rossini.

Carol García and Elena Sancho Pereg join forces with Teodora Oprisor for Latin and French works.
