
Festival d’Aix-en-Provence Names Advisor for 2025 Edition
By David SalazarFollowing the death of director Pierre Audi, Bernard Foccroulle has been selected as an advisor for artistic and managerial inquiries for the festival’s 2025 edition.
Per a press release, the decision was agreed to by the Festival’s President, Paul Hermelin, in conjunction with the different regional government organizations.
Foccroulle directed the festival from 2007 to 2018.
Audi had been appointed to be the director of the festival in 2018 and remained there until his recent passing on May 3, 2025. The festival is set to open on July 4 with a production of “Don Giovanni” and features productions of “Louise,” “La Calisto,” “Les Pêcheurs de Perles,” and “La Forza del Destino,” among others. Among the major stars set to perform at the festival this summer are Jonas Kaufmann, Anna Pirozzi, Brian Jagde, Sophie Koch, Elsa Dreisig, Andrè Schuen, and Golda Schultz.
