The Festival Castell de Peralada has announced the postponement of Lise Davidsen’s recital.

The festival announced that Davidsen will not be able to perform on July 31 due to Span’s new COVID-19 protocols which force the soprano to quarantine for five days. Davidsen is currently performing at the Bayreuth Festival in Germany and therefore will not be able to quarantine in between her performances of “Tannhauser” and rehearsals for “Die Walkure.”

In a press statement, Davidsen sent her affection to the Spanish audience and stated that she is looking for a new date for next year’s festival. All ticket holders will receive a refund.

This season the Festival Castell de Peralada is set to present concerts featuring Javier Camarena, Benjamin Bernheim, and Rufus Wainwright. The festival will also present Handel’s “Orlando” and opened with Puccini’s “Tosca”
