The Metropolitan Opera’s Live in HD season will continue with Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” on April 26, 2025.

The production by Richard Eyre will be conducted by Joana Mallwitz and will star Michael Sumuel and soprano Olga Kulchynska as Figaro and Susanna. They will be joined by Joshua Hopkins as Count Almaviva, Federica Lombardi as the Countess, and Sun-Ly Pierce as Cherubino.

This production premiered in 2014 and was seen in cinemas back then.

American film, theater, and television director Habib Azar will direct the Live in HD presentation, and soprano Julia Bullock will host the transmission, sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes content and interviews during intermission.

When the opera opened, OperaWire hailed the cast noting, “In all, the cast’s enjoyment was infectious. It was hard not to come away with a smile from a production where the ultimate experience far surpassed any noticeable blemishes.”
