Experiential Orchestra to Present Unique Version of ‘Four Last Songs’

By David Salazar

Experiential Orchestra to present a reimagined version of “Four Last Songs” as part of its 2023 concerts.

Led by Music Director James Blachly, the program, which is co-presented with Trinity Church Wall Street will feature soprano Sarah Brailey alongside cellist Andrew Yee in a showcase that will take place at St. Paul’s Chapel in New York City.

The showcase will feature a performance of the famed Strauss work with Brailey followed by a version featuring a cello soloist. Audience members will be embedded in the orchestra. The two soloists will then perform in Caroline Shaw’s “By and By.”

“These songs are so rapturously beautiful, and we want to invite the audience to live in this musical sound-world in two exquisite ways. Bringing them to life with two of my very favorite artists will be a dream come true,” Blachly commented in an official press statement.

The performance is set to take place on Jan. 27, 2023.
