[Exclusive] Watch John Brancy & Peter Dugan’s ‘A Silent Night: A WWI Memorial in Song’
By Francisco SalazarToday at 7 p.m. John Brancy and Peter Dugan will present a recital in commemoration of World War I’s centennial from the Smithsonian Institute. OperaWire has been given the opportunity to live stream the performance right on this page below.
The concert is part of a tour in which they are partners of the WWI Centennial Commission. In a press statement Daniel Dayton, Executive Director of the WWI Centennial Commission said Brancy and Dugan’s project is “a one-of-a-kind experience that transports audiences in a manner unlike any museum exhibition or concert program I have seen.”
The program entitled “A Silent Night: A WWI Memorial in Song” is set to include music by Gerald Finzi, George Butterworth, Ivor Gurney, Carl Orff, Maurice Ravel, Francis Poulenc, Claude Debussy Charles Ives, and Ivor Novello.
OperaWire interviewed the pair about this concert a year ago; read more about the concert from that piece here.
Watch the live stream here and on Facebook live at 7 p.m.
