Ewa Plonka, Antonio Poli, & Anthony D. Anderson to Perform at the Lincoln Memorial

Italian conductor Alvise Casellati will lead the annual Opera Italiana is in the Air concert at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

For the third year, professional opera singers and a full orchestra will perform under the baton of Casellati at the Nation’s capital. This year, featured performers in “Opera’s Unexpected Moment” include soprano Ewa Plonka, tenor Antonio Poli, and baritone Anthony D. Anderson.

The theme of the concert is inspired by the recent rise of opera in pop culture – from Beyoncé’s recording of “Caro Mio Ben,” to the #OperaChallenge on TikTok, and Opera is at the Outfield. Previous themes include “Peace on Earth: The Art of Nature,” starring Michael Fabiano, George Andguladze, Lydia Grindatto, and “REBIRTH!” with Jennifer Rowley, Gabriella Reyes, and Stephen Costello.

Opera Italiana is in the Air 2024 on June 1 is free and open to the public. It runs 6 – 7:30 p.m.
