The Semperoper Dresden has announced a cast change for “The Other Wife.”

The company noted that Evelyn Herlitzius will not be joining the performance series of “The Other Wife.” Therefore Magdalena Anna Hofmann will take over the role of Sarai in performances on Jan. 30 and Feb. 2.

Hofmann opened the production on Jan. 22 making her Semperoper Dresden debut. The soprano has performed at Tiroler Festspiele in Erl, the Teatro alla Scala, the Theater an der Wien, and the Bregenz Festival, among others.

“The Other Wife” also stars Markus Marquardt, Stephanie Atanasov, Philipp Mathmann, Philipp Meraner, Ilya Silchuk, and Sussan Deyhim. The new work was commissioned by the Saxon State Opera and was staged by Immo Karaman. The opera runs through Feb. 9, 2022.
